Celebrate nature, learn new skills and explore the outdoors at Fins & Feathers! Held at Centennial Park in conjunction with World Migratory Bird Day, this family-friendly event invites young explorers to discover the connection between birds, fish and healthy ecosystems.
Designed for kids ages 12 and under, participants will learn the basics of ethical fishing and birdwatching through hands-on activities and guided experiences.
Time
9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Event Schedule:
- 8:30 a.m. – Check-in opens
- 9 a.m. – Event kickoff and welcome
- 9-11:30 a.m. – Fishing instruction and open fishing with staff support
- 9:30 & 10:30 a.m. – Guided birdwatching walks (approx. 30 minutes each)
- 11:30 a.m. – Wrap-up and final fishing opportunities

Centennial Park (4630 S Decatur St.)
Registration
This event is free, but advance registration is required. A participation waiver must also be completed for each child.
