A1 OrganicsProgram Overview

The Cities of Englewood and Sheridan, in partnership with A1 Organics, are launching a pilot program this year offering residents a $25 discount on their first cubic yard of mulch, compost or soils from A1 Organics.

Why This Matters

This program encourages a circular nutrient system by turning leaves residents dropped off last fall into rich, nutrient-dense materials for their gardens and projects this year.

Supporting A1 Organics also means supporting a local business that has been a GOLD recognized member of the Sustainable Business Partnership for 15 years.

Pickup & Product Details

  • Residents picking up orders must follow all site signage and check in at the gatehouse for instructions. Loading is free.
  • Pickup is allowed during normal business hours. Mid-week visits are recommended to avoid busy Fridays and Saturdays.
  • Product weights per cubic yard:
    • Compost: 1000 lbs
    • Mulch: 750 lbs
    • Soil: 2000 lbs (requires a one-ton pickup or trailer minimum)
    • PRO4 (Soilless Media): 700 lbs
  • Use the yardage weight calculator on A1 Organics’ website to estimate how much product you need and the vehicle requirements.
  • IMPORTANT: If you are doing the pickup option instead of delivery, you MUST pick up all the product at one time. Please ensure you have the proper vehicle to haul your order at once. If you come for pickup in an inappropriately sized vehicle, you will be asked to leave and come back with an appropriately sized vehicle. No split pickups allowed, no exceptions. All vehicles are required by law to cover and tarp after leaving the site.

Free Mulch Available Through the City of Englewood

Free mulch is available to Englewood citizens throughout the year.  The mulch is from Christmas trees that were dropped off in January. Appointment is required for pick-up of mulch.  Call 303-762-2542 to schedule pick-up time.  Pick up is a ¼ mile north of the City of Englewood’s Service Center (2800 S. Platte River Drive) on the right side.  Staff is not available to assist with loading mulch, please bring your own supplies.
