About
The City of Englewood’s Adopt-A-Spot and Adopt-A-Garden Programs were developed to support citizens in playing an active role in helping to keep the city’s parks, trails and streets clean, litter free and safe. Participants will conduct ongoing monitoring and lead beautification/cleanup projects in their designated areas of adoption. The program provides an opportunity to create community spirit and help to provide a clean, beautiful space for others to enjoy.
Program Overview
Adopt-A-Spot volunteers and participating groups commit to keeping their spot clean, litter-free and beautiful through the adoption and improvement of communal spaces.
Public Spaces available to adopt include:
- Parks
- Trails
- Street/Sidewalk
- Bus Stops (coming soon!)
Program participants are expected to:
- A one-year commitment
- A minimum of six cleanups per year. Monthly cleanups preferred.
- Safety protocol review
- Inform Program Staff about planned cleanups. (Let us know if you need assistance disposing of collected trash.)
- Provide adult supervision for volunteers under 18 years of age
- Complete a post-cleanup report
Program participants are expected to commit to adopted flower bed for the entire growing season (late May-mid-October) that will include:
- Planting flowers late May
- Monitoring flower bed bi-weekly
- Remove and dispose of weeds and litter in bed
- Prune and deadhead
- Clean out flower bed(s) by mid-October
Who can participate?
Everyone can contribute! The City of Englewood’s Adopt-A-Spot Programs are open to anyone in the community: Individuals, families, group volunteers, local businesses, and other organizations are encouraged to participate. If you would like to Adopt-A-Spot, getting started is easy! All volunteers must review and sign our Adopt-a-Spot agreement and Release from Liability form. If a participant is under the age of 18, a parent or guardian must read and sign the Volunteer Agreement form before a minor can participate.

How to Adopt Your Spot
Browse the available spots that suits your interests and location preferences. Choose your spot then submit an application and fill out the waiver agreement here and email the signed waiver to dsevera@englewoodco.gov. Staff will review your application and notify you when it has been approved.
