Reports To: Volunteer Program Coordinator, may receive direction from Englewood Public Library staff.

Summary: Organize and straighten bookshelves, sort materials on carts for shelving, shelving, item search lists, shelf reading, and other collection-focused tasks.

Time Commitment: Minimum of 2 hours per week, with a maximum of 6 hours per week. Schedule will vary based on volunteer availability and Library needs.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must be able to organize materials in alphabetical and numerical order. Knowledge of the Dewey Decimal System is helpful, but not required. Ability to interact with patrons and work effectively and cooperatively with library staff is necessary.

Qualifications: Must be 18 years old and over. Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time and perform lifting and shelving of materials while standing, stooping, and/or bending. Must be able to push/pull a book cart back and forth within the Library.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must be able to effectively clean surfaces and items with provided materials including but not limited to gloves, rags, and face masks. Ability to interact with patrons and work effectively and cooperatively with library staff is necessary.

Position Title: Tech Assist Volunteer

Responsible To: Volunteer Program Coordinator, may receive direction from Englewood Public Library staff.

Summary: Assist patrons in the Technology Lab and in public computer area on general use and provide basic instruction. This may include, but is not limited to printing, website navigation, troubleshoot computer issues, guidance on use of tablets and smartphones, connecting to the public Wi-fi, and other technology related duties and projects as needed.

Time Commitment: Minimum of 2 hours per week, with a maximum of 6 hours per week. Schedule will vary based on volunteer availability and Library needs. Tech Assist programming occurs every Tuesday & Thursday 12-2 p.m. at the library, and the first and third Wednesday of each month from 2:30-5 p.m. at the Malley Recreation Center. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Working knowledge of personal computers and other technology devices. Basic knowledge of web-based email, web browsers, Microsoft Office, and Google Suite applications. Ability to patiently provide instruction to novice computer users, communicate effectively and pleasantly with library patrons, and work cooperatively with Library staff.

Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years old or older. Strong knowledge of using a variety of technology and web-based tools. Previous experience providing formal technology instruction is helpful.
