The Englewood Downtown Development Authority Board of Directors is appointed by Englewood City Council and representative of each of the three downtown subareas.

Blake Calvert, CORE Consultants

Blake Calvert is president and CEO of a professional services firm serving land development, energy and public development sectors from an office on South Broadway. The firm employs 71 people and has been in operation since 2014.

Thomas Carr, Craig Hospital

Tom Carr is currently the Director of Therapeutic Recreation and Director of Military Programs at Craig Hospital. A certified recreational therapist, he also has experience offering recreational opportunities to individuals with disabilities in New Hampshire and Vermont.

 

George Gastis, Grow + Gather and The Feedery at Grow + Gather1619757597623

George Gastis is the founder and owner of Grow + Gather and The Feedery at Grow + Gather, an urban farm, restaurant, market and coffee shop housed in a renovated historic auto shop. He is a serial entrepreneur and small business owner for nearly 20 years who currently operates four Englewood businesses.

“As a long-time business owner and area resident, I look forward to contributing to the planning, implementation and oversight of Downtown improvement projects and general economic growth for the City of Englewood.”

 

Brad Nixon, Nixon's Coffee House & Share Good Foods

Brad Nixon owns a CityCenter coffee house focused on building community by gathering people over coffee and food. The business also provides wholesale grab-and-go food items for the Denver area market.

“I was part of the DDA Steering Committee and would like to continue helping to fully establish the EDDA for the sake of Englewood businesses in the three affected areas. I think this is an important program for Englewood and would like to help shape it for the future.”

 

 

Othoniel Sierra, Mayor ProTem and City Councilmember

A member of the city council since 2018, Othoniel Sierra has served as Englewood’s mayor pro tem since 2019, and currently serves as Mayor . He is currently an account executive for Salesforce, a technology solution specializing in helping companies leverage workflows and internal systems.

 

 

 

Hugo Weinberger, Situs Real Estate

An Englewood resident and business owner for more than 20 years, Hugo Weinberger manages two office buildings with the help of 10 employees. Weinberger believes the City of Englewood has well-located, valuable real estate in the transit-oriented development location.

Whatever is done should be done in the context of a well-thought-out master plan that has benefit to all stakeholders, most importantly the city and residents of Englewood. Joe Phillips, Fellow Traveler

As owner and operator of Fellow Traveler, a cozy restaurant on the 3400 block of South Broadway, Joe has been involved with many plans and projects, including recently serving on the Affordable Housing Taskforce for the City of Englewood.

“I feel that other downtown communities in Colorado have done a good job of lifting up their business districts, to make them feel special and worth stopping by. Englewood has the potential to meet or exceed the accomplishments of our neighbors.”
