Neighborhood Block Party Application

Block parties are a fun way to connect residents and neighbors together. For block parties that wish to occupy part of the city street, a Block Party Street Occupancy permit is required from the Public Works Department for a $25 fee. The permit application is available below. Permits are available between May 1 and October 31. In order to help ensure the safety of guests and minimize potential pedestrian-automobile conflicts, barricades are required to be placed at each end of the street during block party events that occupy part of a city street.

Ready to Host a Block Party? Follow These Steps:

  1. Submit a Street Occupancy Permit Application
  2. Prepare a Traffic Control Plan
    • As part of your permit application, you’ll need to upload a simple map or plan showing where barricades will be placed at each end of the street.
  3. Arrange for Barricades
    •  The City of Englewood does not provide barricades required for block party events. “Englewood Block Party” barricade rental packages are available. Learn more about barricades here.
  4. Wait for Approval
    • After your application is reviewed, Public Works will contact you. Once approved, you’ll receive an email with a link to pay your permit fee online.
  5. Host Your Event!
    • Be sure to place barricades at each end of the street before your party begins to keep your guests safe and your event in compliance with city requirements.
