Supporting home ownership has been a longstanding goal of the Englewood City Council. Since 2002, we have allotted the City of Englewood's share of over a million dollars in Private Activity Bond authority to the Colorado Housing Finance Authority (CHFA) for home ownership programs, making it easier for qualifying residents to own their own homes in Englewood.

CHFA provides mortgage assistance to qualifying low and moderate-income households.  They offer a variety of home ownership programs tailored to different needs. There are programs for first-time and experienced buyers. Those programs offer not only below-market mortgage rates, but also help with down payment and closing costs. There are also programs assisting homebuyers who are disabled or the parents of a disabled child.

Homebuyer education classes are required for some CHFA loans. The classes are offered frequently in the Englewood area. Interested homebuyers should contact a participating lender about which CHFA program best meets their needs.

The links below will provide you information on lenders, mortgage calculators, frequently asked questions, schedules, and phone contact information for homebuyer classes.
