City of Englewood, Colorado
Home MenuMatt Crabtree: District 1 Candidate
Englewood candidates for city council were offered an opportunity to submit a candidate profile. Their profile is posted verbatim below.
Many neighbors are feeling pressure from rising costs, public safety concerns, and redevelopment decisions that have not always included clear communication or community involvement. Englewood needs a balanced path forward that protects affordability, strengthens public safety, supports small-local businesses, and rebuilds trust in local government.
Rebuilding trust starts with being open and straightforward, with clear communication about policy decisions, regular community town halls, and transparent oversight of the controversial Flock cameras. Residents deserve timely updates during neighborhood emergencies and a public safety approach that works with the community.
Affordability remains a growing concern. Fee increases, especially water and sewer, impact families and seniors, while small businesses need stability to grow. Housing policies should support real affordability and homeownership opportunities, not maximizing profits for developers.
Projects like the CityCenter redevelopment must keep public benefits and long-term community priorities front and center - not simply producing another round of high-priced apartments.
Finally, our approach to homelessness should be compassionate and firm, connecting those in need to resources and services while keeping our community safe.
I will bring independent and transparent leadership to City Council and appreciate your vote on April 7th.
