WHO AM I?
I’ve been honored to serve as Englewood’s Presiding Municipal Judge since 2018. Previously, I served as our mayor and Council Member from District 1. I was the first Asian mayor and judge in Englewood history. Before becoming our judge, I owned and operated my local law firm, Jefferson Legal Group. I earned my B.S. from Cornell University and my J.D. from the University of Denver. My family business, Twin Dragon Restaurant, had also proudly served Englewood for over 47 years until 2023.
WHY ME?
Our elected judge has the unique challenge of being a full-time judge and managing a branch of our local government. Our judge requires a deep understanding of people, municipal law, and our community. My experience with people, recent innovations to our justice system, legal and business background, as well as leadership on our City’s Council and budgets, have prepared me to best meet our community’s needs into the future.
Our legal system should fairly and efficiently resolve conflicts, minimize confusion and intimidation, while ensuring personal responsibility and public safety in our community. I enjoy the challenging and rewarding work of resolving local conflicts, as well as the rehabilitation and restoration of our community on a case-by-case basis. In recent years, I have implemented “Justice with Dignity for All” as our Court’s mission with help from our amazing court team. I have also helped implement local problem-solving programs, including our Restorative Justice and Court Navigator Programs that recently received a Department of Justice grant.
