Steve Ward: District 4: Four-Year Term Candidate

Steven Ward - Englewood City CouncilmemberEver since I bought my home in Englewood 14 years ago, I have aimed to serve our community. First I spent two years on the city’s liquor board. Then I joined the newly-formed Budget Advisory Committee in 2014. I was appointed to fill an at-large vacancy on city council in 2021, and later that year I won a race for the District 4 council seat, the position I now hold.

I ran for city council to ensure that Englewood honors its commitments to my fellow residents. If you have an issue working with the city bureaucracy, I want to help you.

During my tenure as the District 4 councilman, we’ve held multiple neighborhood meetings with city staff, concerned neighbors, and even some of my fellow councilmembers to solve big issues, including a crime problem in Belleview Park, a 5-G cell that was proposed on a resident’s property, a problem house where people were constructing pipe bombs, and substandard alley maintenance. I’ve helped residents with winter ice buildup on the streets near their homes and even assisted a constituent to prevent a stop-work fee that he should not have owed.

Englewood is changing. If you choose to re-elect me, I will work to manage the pace of change in Englewood and seek balance in everything we do.

Englewood is a diverse community with a mixture of values. In matters where we disagree, I will always strive for civility, collaboration, and constructive dialogue that benefits the community we all cherish.
