Roles & Responsibilities

Mayor

The mayor runs the city council meetings, is the signatory for council-approved contracts and the ceremonial head of the city.

City Council Member

A city council member is responsible for representing their constituents, they vote on city ordinances and policies and oversee the city's budget and services.

Municipal Judge

A municipal judge presides over local court cases, interprets and applies city ordinances and state laws to ensure fair legal proceedings and render judgments on violations within their jurisdiction.

Candidate Timeline

  1. Download the Candidate Packet Here
  2. File your candidate affidavit and committee registration form with the City Clerk's Office located at 1000 Englewood Pkwy, 3rd floor.
  3. Beginning August 5, circulate your nomination petition and gather 50 signatures from registered electors. *Only petitions obtained from the Englewood City Clerk’s office may be circulated.*
  4. Turn in your nomination petitions no later than August 25 by 5 p.m.
