Englewood’s Utilities Department is asking water customers to voluntarily follow a three-day-per-week watering schedule.
Englewood Utilities is asking customers to voluntarily follow a three-day-per-week watering schedule this summer as drought conditions continue. While no mandatory restrictions are in place, residents are strongly encouraged to use water wisely both outdoors and indoors.
Customers are encouraged to water up to three days per week based on address:
- Odd addresses: Monday, Wednesday and Friday
- Even addresses: Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
The Utilities Department will keep a close eye on drought conditions and water usage as we enter the summer months. If mandatory restrictions become necessary, we will notify customers via our website.
Watering Guidelines:
- Water no more than three days a week (there are no assigned days)
- Water only before 10 a.m. or after 6 p.m. to reduce evaporation and improve efficiency.
- Water only when lawns or gardens need the water.
- Give the lawn or garden only as much water as it needs.
- Keep water from running down alleys and gutters.
- Don't water while it is raining or during high winds.
- Fix leaking sprinkler systems as soon as possible
