Cops and Bobbers 

The Englewood Police Department's Community Relations and Crime Prevention Manager coordinates a variety of services, which include community relations and events, crime prevention, safety education, and volunteer opportunities. Below are some of the events and programs that we provide to the community:

 

  •  Coffee with the Chief -Stay tuned, we will host another event soon! Start your morning with a cup of coffee and conversation! Join us for a chance to meet Police Chief Dave Jackson; ask questions, share your thoughts, or just stop by to say hello in a relaxed, friendly setting.
  • Cops and Bobbers - April/May at Centennial Lake. Reel in fun, Cast out crime! Join us for a family-friendly fishing event designed to create positive connections between kids and local law enforcement. Registration is required to attend, event is free. Thanks for joining us this year, see you in 2026!
  • Popsicles with the Police - Stay cool with a free frozen treat and chat with our Officers! Event held at Belleview Park, next to the Farm and Train.
  • National Night Out - A nationwide event where neighbors gather together the first Tuesday in August to send a message to criminals that they are united in cracking down on crime in their neighborhood.
  • Citizen's Police Academy - September 16, 2025, to November 18, 2025
    • A unique opportunity for Englewood community members to get an inside look at how the Englewood Police Department works! Registration is closed for 2025, join us next year!

  • Women's Personal Safety and Self-Defense Class - September 29, 2025, 5:00PM - 7:00PM
    • Boost your awareness in everyday situations, build confidence in your personal safety, and practice simple, effective self-defense techniques. Whether you’re walking alone, traveling, or just want to feel more prepared, this class will give you skills you can use for life.
    •  Space is limited -Click HERE to register
    •  Participants must be at least 18 years old, or attending with a parent or guardian.

 

  • Cocoa with the Police - Winter 2025/2026 - Warm up with our Officers and Dispatchers over a cup of hot cocoa while we share what you need to know about calling 9-1-1!
  • Fire Pancake Breakfast & Open House - October 11, 2025, 8:00AM - 11:00AM - Wrap up Fire Prevention Week with the Englewood Fire Marshal's Office and the Denver Fire Department! Enjoy a pancake breakfast and open house at Denver Fire Station 37.
