All businesses operating in the City of Englewood need a business license.
Additionally, businesses who meet the definition of Engaged in Business, but are not located within the city (Englewood Municipal Code Sec 4-4-2) also need a business license. Requirements of having a business license include filing a sales tax return on a regular reoccurring basis.
Applying for a Business License
The City of Englewood has partnered with GovOS fka MUNIRevs to provide an online business licensing and tax collection system. This system allows businesses to access their accounts and submit tax returns and payments online. Before applying for a business license make sure that you have everything you need by looking at the Checklist for New Businesses here.
Please Note: The license is valid for two years (Englewood Municipal Code Sec 4-4-1-1). License fee is $25 application fee.

Steps for Applying
- Go to the MUNIRevs Portal
- Click on “New Users”
- Enter your email address and follow the instructions in the e-mail you will receive from MUNIRevs.
- Create a user profile
- Register your business or apply for a license
- Add your existing business account(s): If you have already been issued a license and/or you have been paying taxes in this jurisdiction, choose this option. Here you will enter your license number and MUNIRevs activation code.
- Apply for a new license: This will create a new business and related tax forms. Here you will enter your business name, business type and your role.
- After applying, the Licensing Department will contact you for the next steps.
