Civic Center Parking Garage Repairs

Repair work at the Civic Center parking garage is expected to begin the week of September 8. The project will be completed in phases, with each phase expected to take approximately two months. Approximately 30% of the garage will be sectioned off during each phase of the project.

Project Phases

  • Phase 1: September 2026 - Winter 2026
  • Phase 2: Winter 2026
  • Phase 3: Winter/Spring 2027
  • Project Completion: Anticipated Spring 2027

Project timelines are subject to change. Weather conditions and unforeseen construction delays may affect the anticipated schedule.

What to expect in Phase 1

Construction crews will begin placing temporary tape around the Phase 1 work area the week of August 31. The tape is being used to identify areas where construction will take place and discourage vehicles from parking in spaces that will soon be part of the construction area. Crews are gradually marking these areas as parking spaces become available.

Construction fencing will be installed throughout the week. The fencing will create a permanent barrier around the active construction area.

The Civic Center building, entrances and exits and book drop-off area remain accessible.

Parking and access during Phase 1

The lower level of the parking garage will remain accessible.

Access to the upper level will be restricted during Phase 1 because the garage ramp will also be repaired. During this phase, the upper level can only be accessed from the Hampden Avenue entrance.

Please follow posted signs and stay outside construction fencing and designated construction areas.

Additional information about future phases, including changes to the construction area and parking access, will be shared as the project progresses.
