Xcel Energy is beginning work on the Greenwood to Arapahoe Transmission Project, part of a larger multi-year effort to upgrade critical electric transmission infrastructure across the Denver Metro area.
The project includes upgrades to approximately 9.5 miles of existing 230-kilovolt overhead transmission lines and associated equipment between the Greenwood Substation in Centennial and the Arapahoe Substation in Denver. Work will take place across several communities, including portions of Centennial, Denver, Englewood, Greenwood Village, Littleton and Sheridan.
In Englewood, project activities will occur within a limited area in the southwest portion of the city. Residents in the project area may see construction crews, equipment and temporary activity associated with transmission line upgrades.
