When a family experiences housing instability, getting help quickly can make all the difference. A new Tri-Cities initiative is making that process simpler and more connected for families in Sheridan, Englewood and Littleton.
The Community Economic Defense Project (CEDP), Colorado’s largest anti-poverty organization, is partnering with the three cities to improve how families access housing and support services. As the region’s primary family services provider, CEDP is helping schools, housing providers and community organizations coordinate efforts so families do not fall through the cracks.
Through regular case conferencing and regional collaboration, partners share information and align resources. Resource fairs connected to the McKinney-Vento program, a federal program that supports students experiencing homelessness, help families connect with services that support students in staying enrolled in their current school.
CEDP’s CARE Center provides realtime, multilingual housing stability support and maintains a comprehensive resource network, helping families quickly understand their options and connect to the right services.
By streamlining referrals and reducing duplication, the Tri-Cities initiative strengthens the safety net for families and supports long-term housing stability across the region. For more information about the Tri-Cities homelessness initiative here.
