New Flexible Improvement Grant

Post Date:04/30/2026 8:00 PM

The City of Englewood is proud to announce the launch of the Flexible Improvement Grant (FIG) pilot program, a new initiative designed to support eligible businesses in the Englewood South Corridor through targeted, one-time investments to enhance customer experiences and ensure long-term viability.

The FIG pilot builds on the city's existing grant programs, which primarily focus on physical property improvements such as building upgrades and capital repairs.  While these programs remain essential, the Flexible Improvement Grant expands the city's approach by testing new ways to support storefront activation and a positive business experience.  Through this pilot, Englewood aims to better understand how strategic, flexible funding can strengthen individual businesses while contributing to the broader vitality of the Englewood South Corridor revitalization effort.

Grant funds will be distributed on a reimbursement basis following the submission of paid invoices for eligible expenses.  Payments will be issued once all required documentation is received and any applicable permits and inspections have been completed and approved.

Funding is limited and not all applicants may receive grants.  Businesses are encouraged to apply by July 31, 2026 to receive priority consideration.
