On April 27, 2026, at approximately 0523 hours, Englewood Police Officers responded to the area of 4900 S. Santa Fe Drive on the report of a possible traffic crash involving a tanker truck that was on fire.
Upon arrival, officers located the tanker truck fully engulfed in flames. Fire crews on scene worked quickly to contain the fire.
A neighboring U-Haul business also sustained damage during the incident, with multiple vehicles impacted by the fire.
During the investigation, the driver of the vehicle was located deceased inside the truck. The identity of the driver is being withheld pending positive identification and notification of next of kin. The Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office will release the identity once proper notifications have been made.
The cause of the crash remains under active investigation, and no additional information is available for release at this time.
