These scams involve fraudulent invoices or threatening messages claiming fines or enforcement action and are designed to appear as if they are from a local government.
These emails may look legitimate because scammers can use information found in publicly available records, such as names, email addresses or mailing addresses.
Please keep the following in mind:
- The city only accepts payments through its official online payment systems, by check or in person at city facilities.
- Legitimate emails from the city of Englewood will always come from an email address ending in @englewoodco.gov.
- Use caution if an email feels urgent, threatening or unexpected. Do not reply, click on links or provide personal or financial information.
