Due
to the ongoing federal government shutdown, SNAP (food assistance) benefits will be on hold for November. This will affect more than over 25,304 households in Arapahoe County alone, including many families, older adults and people with disabilities. Resources are available now for those needing food assistance support. If you or someone you know needs support this November, please reach out to the following resources:
211 Colorado: An online database with information for more than 6,500 services across the state of Colorado to connect people to the resources they need.
Feeding Colorado: An organization which coordinates and ensures access to healthy, fresh food resources for Coloradans facing food insecurity.
Integrated Family Community Services (IFCS): An organization providing food resources and additional services to low-income people, using donations and community resources.
Tri-Cities Homelessness Initiative: An organization providing resources and support for unhoused people within the Englewood, Littleton and Sheridan communities. Food resources are available and listed on their resource page.
Want to get involved? You can also help by donating to a local food bank. Every contribution makes a difference for fellow community members in need.
