The City of Englewood is working to comply with Colorado House Bill 24-1152, which requires municipalities to allow at least one accessory dwelling unit (ADU) on lots containing a single-family detached residence. While Title 16 of the Englewood Municipal Code currently permits ADUs in other areas of the city, the Neighborhood Preservation Overlay District includes regulations that prohibit them.

Before preparing a proposed ordinance for city council's consideration, city staff would like to meet with property owners within the overlay district to discuss the potential code amendment. The purpose of the meeting is to provide information about the state law requirements, explain how they may affect the overlay district, answer questions and hear any comments or concerns you may have.
