A bit of history about Englewood City Council

The City of Englewood was incorporated May 13, 1903. From 1903 through 1908, City Council Members were called Trustees. From 1909 to 1950, they were called Aldermen. From 1903 through 1950, Englewood Mayors were elected by voters. At the August 7, 1951 Election, Englewood voters approved the adoption of the City Council/City Manager form of government. Following that election, all Mayors have been appointed by City Council.
